Flagrant Magazine - Typography

BLACK LIVES MATTER

This project was for Flagrant Magazine, a basketball and pop culture centered zine. I was asked to create a piece around the Black Lives Matter movement and the upcoming NBA season, to be used as the center spread for the magazine. I designed a sign that would represent the Eastern vs Western Conference games that make up the NBA seasons. I used arrow signs to give context, and placed the BLM message front and center. Kind of a modern take on those novelty signs that have arrows pointed every which way, w/ major cities labeling each arrow. Art Direction by Bethany Marrie Ito.
